Are you a writer? If you are, you know that it's hard to find time to write. If you do happen to snatch a few hours, chances are that you'll stare at your computer screen... You're under too much pressure to be able to perform on demand.

About Angela Booth and Time to Write

Angela Booth
Hi Fellow Writer

Welcome to Time to Write. I hope that this site will help you to make time for your writing, and will build your confidence.

All writers struggle to find time for their writing. In the 1970s, when I started writing, I was bringing up children, and running a business too. Time was at a premium. I could honestly say that I had "no time" to write.

But I wrote anyway, late at night, and very early in the mornings. So I know what it's like to struggle to find time. And to endure the less-than-kind teasing of family members who think you're wasting your time "trying to be a writer."

If you're a new writer, and are enduring similar raillery, which implies that you're odd at best, and a lunatic at worst, take heart. You WILL succeed, and will win the (albeit often grudging) respect of those who are ridiculing you now.

Technology can help you to find time, and manage your time

I've always been a productivity junkie. I think that's why I fell in love with computers -- they save so much time. When my first computer, the Apple IIe, entered my life, I was thrilled: I no longer needed to buy correction tape for my IBM Selectric typewriter. I could delete entire words at a keystroke, and move text around without retyping many pages.

My typescripts were always messy in my pre-computer years. I spent a fortune on Liquid Paper correction fluid. My pages featured heavily slashed-out words: often four to a page. If there were more than four, I grudgingly retyped the page. They also featured insertions: words, and often whole sentences. I pity my poor editors, and admire their patience.

I encourage you to make the best use of your computer, and to find programs which will help you to find time, and to organize the time you have. Consider mind mapping programs, as well as cloud-based applications like Evernote and Dropbox, which allow you to take your writing with you, and access your files on any computer.

I wish you much success with your writing. Enjoy Time To Write: Build Your Writing Career Minute By Minute. I know that this package will help you not only to find time for your writing, but will also make you a much happier and self-confident writer.

Affectionately
